Inspired by community debates concerning the future development of an agricultural research site in Charlottetown, PEI, Greenscale was a public investigation into the idea of green space. Though the term is used quite freely, what exactly is meant by the term green space is often quite vague. For some it means considering the ecological impact of place, for others it simply means there is grass. This experimental performative survey collected data and initiated meaningful public discussion about different ideas of green space and what it means for a city.
Greenscale was part of a multi-faceted exploratory DodoLab program, commissioned by the Confederation Centre Art Gallery that also included works from Barbara Hobot (Kitchener, ON), Laura Knap (Kingston, ON) and Alice Angus (United Kingdom).
